WRAP Documents:

At Brown & Brown Empire State, we specialize in all aspects of employee benefits and employee benefit communications.  We know what is needed for ERISA compliance and how to help simplify your 5500 filing requirements.  A Wrap Document will bring together all of your benefits that you provide into one concise employee communication piece.  ERISA section 402 requires that an employee benefit plan be “established and maintained pursuant to a written instrument” which must include specific information.  Since the contract(s) between you and the insurance carrier are usually not intended to be ERISA “plan documents”, they may not include all ERISA required information.  The Wrap provides this information and incorporates other contracts or documents by reference.  Thus it shows the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) that you have clearly identified your plan(s) and are communicating the required plan information to your employees.

A WRAP document can:
